Ireland 16-16 Wales: Five things we learned

Wales recovered from a 13-point deficit in Dublin to begin their Six Nations campaign with a hard-fought draw against Ireland.

But, Warren Gatland’s men will rue a cheap penalty which allowed Johnny Sexton to draw the home side late on – just after Wales had gone in front for the first time.

In a similar fashion to 2013, Wales got off to a slow start and were made to pay by a well-drilled Ireland side who put points on the board.

But the visitors came back and perhaps shoukd have won it as the match reached its conclusion.

So as both teams ponder the value of an opening day draw, here are five things we learned.
