Dylan Hartley was, on Monday, announced as England captain ahead of this year’s Six Nations championship.
The hooker is England’s most experienced player with 66 caps and became the youngest ever Premiership captain in 2009 when he took over the role at Northampton Saints. He went on to lead the club until 2014 which coincided with the most successful period in the club’s history.
There have been many questions over his discipline in related to role, racking up an impressive total of a years worth of bans, all of which you are about to see.
I am delighted to announce Dylan as England captain. I know it will be a very proud moment for him, his club, his family and friends when he leads England out at Murrayfield.
Here, we take a look at the defining moments of his rugby career.
