Wales and Scarlets scrum-half Gareth Davies is hoping to stay at Parc Y Scarlets next season, despite not knowing if the Welsh Rugby Union want him to sign a National Dual Contract.
The 25-year-old starred for Wales at the Rugby World Cup, following Rhys Webb’s injury just weeks before the tournament. Despite not being Warren Gatland’s first choice scrum-half, Davies excelled as Wales’ number-nine.

Now – with his contract expiring in the summer – Davies is looking to pen down a new deal with Pro12 side Scarlets.
“I think there are a few conversations going on,” Davies said to the BBC.
“My agent is obviously talking to the club and I don’t really know much else.”
Asked if he wants to stay at Scarlets, Davies replied: “Yes.”
You couldn’t really blame the Welshman for wanting to stay in Llanelli, after Scarlets’ outstanding start to the 2015/16 season. They are currently top of the Pro12 with eight wins out of nine games, and things are appearing to get better with centre Jonathan Davies returning to the club in 2016 as his spell in France with Clermont comes to an end.
However, with Jonathan Davies returning, another centre in Scott Williams does appear to be on the verge of departing, which is a big blow for the Scarlets.
If Scarlets can secure a new deal for Gareth Davies though, that is great news for the club, and the WRU.
