Northampton 15-11 Scarlets: Five things we learned

The Scarlets began their European campaign with a narrow 15-11 defeat against Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday.

The region had the benefit of two ten minute spells with a man advantage, but they could not make it count as tries from Ken Pisi and Alex Waller secured victory for the hosts.

A Gareth Davies try and two penalties from Steve Shingler meant the region did not go home empty-handed as they earned a losing bonus point.

The Scarlets will welcome Racing 92 to Llanelli next week as they look to keep their European dream alive.

And as the west Walians dust themselves off and get ready to go again next week, here are five things we learned:
