Recently appointed as head coach of Leinster, former player Leo Cullen is intent on restoring his team’s pride and leading Leinster back to glory.
The 37-year-old was appointed as interim head coach due to former coach Matt O’ Conner leaving his role after missing out on the play-off’s, having served as forwards coach under O’ Conner.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the new season, Cullen was intent on making Leinster a winning force once more-
“I was involved in a playing capacity with Leinster since I was seventeen, going back to 1995,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.
“I was fortunate to be given an opportunity as a forwards coach last season so there was a certain transitional period there for me.”
“This year I have got the opportunity to step into the hot seat and I am really looking forward to the challenge.”

Cullen was highly successful during his time with Leinster , which included a gap in the middle due to a 2-year spell with English side Leicester Tigers from 2005-2007. As captain of Leinster, he captained the side to 3 Heineken Cups before retiring in 2014.
His remit ahead of the new Guinness PRO12 season is to make the playoff’s as they missed out last season after reaching the final at least for the previous 5 seasons and to continue the progress that O’ Conner made in Europe
He will hope to hit the ground running when the new PRO12 season kicks off on the 5th September.
