# Les Kiss calls up Wallabies veteran for UK tour in Rugby Nations Championship

Les Kiss has called 37-year-old Kurtley Beale to the Wallabies squad after Hunter Paisami withdrew from the squad for personal reasons.

Australia will travel to the UK on Saturday for their fixtures against England, Scotland and Wales before they play at Twickenham in a final round based on their ranking in the Southern Hemisphere conference.

The Wallabies won only one of their home fixtures in the Nations Championship and currently sit third, behind the undefeated All Blacks and Springboks.

Kiss got off to a strong start as Wallabies coach, defeating the Springboks, but lost out to the All Blacks twice in the Bledisloe Cup.

## What has Kiss said about the call-up

In an interview reported by RugbyPass, Kiss said, “With Hunter’s unavailability we’re excited by what Kurtley can bring to the group.”

It is clear that Kiss is interested in the experience that Beale can bring to the squad stating, “He’s got 95 caps worth of Test experience and whilst he will primarily cover inside centre he has the versatility to play a number of positions across the backline.”

Beale isn’t just in the squad for his experience, but also due to the form that he has shown over the last year or two. Kiss added, “Kurtley’s also been in great form for the Western Force in Super Rugby Pacific and Super Rugby AUS and is excited to contribute to the environment.”
