Ireland Women to Host England at Aviva Stadium in 2027

Ireland Women Confirm Aviva Stadium Hosting for England Clashes

Ireland Women will host England at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on 8 May 2027, in round four of the Women’s Six Nations. The Irish Rugby Football Union confirmed the fixture as part of the full 2027 tournament schedule released this week.

It marks the second time Ireland have used Lansdowne Road as a home venue, after their record breaking Six Nations debut there last season. England arrive as eight time defending champions, giving the Ireland Women vs England 2027 meeting real weight from the moment it was announced.

Official Tournament Schedule Details and Match Confirmation

Captain Erin King reacted to the news with a statement carried in a BBC Sport report on Ireland Women fixture schedule. She said: “Playing at Aviva Stadium last season was an incredible and landmark experience for the group and we’re really excited to be returning to the home of Irish rugby in 2027,”

King also looked ahead to Ireland’s two home fixtures in the tournament. She said: “These are the occasions you want to be involved in as a player and with two big home matches against France and England coming up in 2027, there is huge motivation for us as a group to produce the occasions and performances that will inspire and excite our Green Wave.”

Those words set the tone for the Ireland Women vs England 2027 clash, which sits in round four alongside Ireland’s other home date against France in Galway.

Squad Impact and Venue Background at Aviva Stadium

The Aviva Stadium already holds a special place in Ireland’s story. Their Six Nations debut there ended in a 54-5 win over Scotland, played in front of a record crowd for a Women’s Six Nations match at the venue.

England will not make it easy. They have won the Women’s Six Nations for eight years running and head into 2027 as favourites once again. Ireland finished third in 2026, behind England and France, and will see Dublin as their best chance to close that gap.

There is plenty of rugby before then to sharpen combinations. Ireland’s recent form includes their outing at WXV, covered in our preview of Ireland’s WXV match, and the selection calls detailed in our report on Ireland squad selection against USA. Both give an early look at players who could feature when England visit Dublin.

Upcoming 2027 Women’s Six Nations Fixture Timeline

Ireland open their 2027 campaign away to Scotland at Murrayfield on 10 April. They then host France at Dexcom Stadium in Galway, before travelling to Wales in round three.

Round four brings England to the Aviva Stadium on 8 May, the fixture most supporters will circle first. Ireland close the tournament away to Italy on 15 May.
