World Rugby Webinar Opens Free Registration Before Supporting Girls Session

World Rugby will stage the first session of its 2026 women’s health webinar series at 11:00 GMT on Tuesday 23 June 2026, with free registration open for coaches, parents and support staff involved in developing young players.

The governing body says the opening online session will focus on supporting girls in rugby and keeping them involved when they first start out in the game, according to World Rugby’s official announcement.

World Rugby Science and Medical Manager Dr Lindsay Starling is coordinating the series, which follows the women’s health webinars launched around the record-breaking 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England. The 2026 programme is due to include further sessions on knee injuries in the women’s game and another women’s health and welfare topic later in the year.

Why The Session Matters For Rugby Pathways

The immediate value is practical. World Rugby has framed the webinar for coaches, parents and anyone helping girls through their first steps in a contact sport, where confidence, welfare knowledge and retention all matter.

Starling said the session is designed to show those adults where to find high-quality, accurate and helpful information for young players. For clubs and schools, the timing is useful: a free global session one day before the summer age-grade and pre-season planning window can feed directly into how girls are welcomed, coached and kept in rugby.
