Montpellier have won 10 games in a row, which saw them win the Challenge Cup against Ulster. They won that final convincingly 59-26. They finished the regular Top 14 season with two narrow wins over Pau and Lyon. The win over Pau in particular made the difference between Montpellier finishing in the top two and not. On the final day of the season, they beat Lyon away by three points, having been nine points behind with 30 minutes to go. Two tries took them into the lead, and a strong defensive effort in the final 15 minutes sealed the game.
