Borthwick has the backing of the RFU until after the 2027 World Cup

Steve Borthwick has been given the backing of the RFU, despite the worst Six Nations in England’s history. He will remain as the head coach until after the World Cup in 2027. The board were conscious of the progress that was made under Borthwick before the Six Nations, including the tour of Argentina last summer.

Hugo Keenan signs contract extension until 2028

Lions, Ireland and Leinster star Hugo Keenan has signed a contract extension that will keep him in his home province until the end of the 2027-28 season. He has scored 19 tries in his 81 appearances for Leinster. 

Jerry Cahir to sign for Connacht

Just 24 hours after Denis Buckley announced his departure from Connacht, Jerry Cahir has been signed from Leinster as his replacement. Cahir is still young for a prop at 25 and has had some opportunities for Leinster this season. Cahir played for Connacht at the youth level and will return to his home province.

Fletcher Anderson to declare for Wales

Back-rower Fletcher Anderson has confirmed his intention to play for Wales internationally after an impressive first season for the Scarlets, where he has played 16 times in all competitions.

Chris Harris leaves Bath for Newcastle Red Bulls

Chris Harris will return to the north as he signs for Newcastle Red Bulls, leaving Bath after being at the club for one year. Harris played over 100 times for Newcastle (then the Falcons) from 2014-19.
