Rugby News Today as the French Federation push for amendments to some laws with World Rugby, while we look forward to European semi-final action next weekend.

Top 14 and the French Federation have suggested law amendments

The French Federation board, which includes representatives from the Top 14, has recommended several law amendments to World Rugby. They have suggested that the shot clock be limited to 45 seconds instead of 60 and have also recommended changes to the way substitutions and bunker are used.

Toulouse suffer shock defeat to Clermont

League leaders Toulouse lost 27-24 at home to Clermont Auvergne. It was the boot of Harry Plummer, who kicked 12 points to bring Clermont back from an early deficit. Teddy Thomas opened the scoring in the first few seconds of the game, and before Clermont knew it, they were 21-0 down within 10 minutes. Clermont scored three converted tries and a penalty from Ramos left the scores 24-24 with 10 minutes to go. Plummer was successful from the tee again to win the match.

Caluori is ready to break the Prem record

Noah Caluori is well on his way to breaking the Prem record for tries in a single season. The current record of 20 is held by Sam Simmonds, and the teenager currently sits on 18 this season. Saracens have four games left to play and play three of the bottom four in the league. He scored his 18th of the season as the Saracens beat Leicester 19-15.

Furlong an injury doubt for Toulon clash

Furlong came off injured against Benetton in the 28th minute and will be a doubt for the Champions Cup semi-final clash with Toulon. Leinster have had major injuries to props this season with Andrew Porter already missing from the loosehead side for a majority of the season. Thomas Clarkson came on to replace Furlong who is an Ireland international in his own right and was a member of the Lions squad to Australia in the summer.
