Munster had a difficult tour of South Africa before the European break, when they were beaten by the Sharks and the Bulls. They then struggled in the wind against the Exeter Chiefs, getting knocked out of the Challenge Cup. In the last round of the URC, they defeated Benetton 45-15. Ulster had been in a great run, but their last two interpro performances have ended in their only two home losses of the season.
