Leinster vs Edinburgh Champions Cup preview as the sides meet at the Aviva Stadium in the round of 16.

Leinster come into the knockout stage as the third seed. They won all four of their group games and only fell below Bordeaux and Glasgow due to bonus points gained.

Edinburgh qualified on 10 points in fourth place, having picked up two wins. Their inferior points difference allowed Castres to qualify in third, despite them finishing on the same points.

Leinster (Home team): W-L-L-W-W

Leinster have had a difficult spell, losing two of the last three games. They had won 11 games in a row before that, stretching back to October. In the last round, they picked up a 36-19 win at the Aviva Stadium over the Scarlets, but didn’t look completely convincing. Joshua Kenny scored his second try with five minutes to go to make the score look a lot more convincing than it was.

Edinburgh (Away team): L-L-L-W-L

Edinburgh have been struggling this season and have only won one of their last seven matches. This came at home to the Scarlets, where they went 14-0 behind to start the game. Since the end of the Six Nations, they have lost both of their games on tour in South Africa. In the last round, they lost 33-14 to the Stormers and held the lead with 20 minutes to go. They conceded three tries in the last 20 minutes to lose the game by a 19-point margin.

They still won the game, but made it three meetings in a row where the margin of victory was less than 10 points.
