Exeter star Henry Slade is expected to return to the Chiefs from injury this weekend according to the club.
Slade has been out of the game since his horrendous injury against Wasps back in December. The Chiefs easily won the match 41-21 but came at a cost as Slade was stretched off with ankle ligament damage and a broken leg. It led to him missing a significant part of this season, and this year’s Six Nations.
Following the injury, Henry Slade began to train tirelessly with the medical and rehabilitation team in order to return to the side as soon as possible.

In this week’s media briefing, head coach Rob Baxter was delighted to inform the media that the 22-year-old is close to match-fit health. Baxter commented saying,
“He is out there now and he has done a full week’s training this week.”
The Exeter head coach continued:
“I suppose with the amount of running he has done, he has done a lot more, but what you would say is that this is the first time he has started a week and he has been selectable as a full-on player.”
“So he is there and we would now class him as fit for selection and whether that means we select him this week, or it is a little early still, we will decide and announce the team later in the week.”
Henry Slade has played a huge role for the Exeter side since joining the club in 2011. In Slade’s 67 appearances for the Chiefs, the Plymouth native has contributed 328 points. Exeter Chiefs fans should hopefully expect his return this weekend as the Chiefs host the Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership.
