What Wales must do to beat Ireland

In the opening round of the 2016 Six Nations, Wales will travel to Dublin to face defending champions Ireland.

Despite being the first match of their respective campiagns, the significance of winning cannot be overstated.

Wales, coincidently, have won Grand Slams in the past two tournaments that directly followed a World Cup – a third wouldn’t go amiss. The two teams have become a dominant force in recent times, winning six out of the last eight tournaments between them.

The omens are good for Warren Gatland’s men having not lost an away match since a heartbreaking 31-30 defeat to South Africa in the summer of 2014.

A large part of this success is Gatland’s tried and tested gameplan – built on breaking the gainline, building pressure through accurate kicking and solid defence.

But what else must Wales do if they are to win in Dublin?
