Rokoduguni receives England call-up

Bath winger Semesa Rokoduguni has received a call-up to Eddie Jone’s new-look England side in the wake of Chris Ashton’s 10-week ban. The Fijian-born player has featured only once before for England, against New Zealand at Twickenham back in 2014.

Now, Planet Rugby reports that Jones has called up the Bath back as a replacement for Saracen’s Chris Ashton who was recently given a 10-week ban after being found guilty of making contact with the eyes of Ulster player, Luke Marshall.

The call-up will undoubtedly provide a confidence boost for Rokoduguni who has endured a poor season so far. Bath have struggled for form in both the European Champion’s Cup and the Aviva Premiership, however, Rokoduguni has been one of the few impressive Bath players this season. It seems Eddie Jones has been keeping an eye on the powerful winger and has chosen to reward his patience and commitment with a second chance in the England side.
