It has been confirmed that 28-year-old Munster fullback Felix Jones has been forced to retire from Rugby on medical grounds.
He was an Ireland international and played in 13 games for his national side. He was also part of the Ireland squad that won the Six Nations Championship earlier this year, a fantastic achievement for Felix Jones and his country.
Jones was appointed Munster captain at the start of the 2014/15 season and was well known among Munster fans for his superb leadership skills and more than deserved the captaincy for his side.
It was also claimed by Paul O’Connell that Felix Jones one of the best Munster players of all time.
one of the greatest players that has ever played for Munster.
He also said that he was very driven and skilled. Very high praise from the Ireland captain, who I am sure will be very disappointed that Jones has had to cut his career short at the tender age of 28 due to his injury problems.
Munster head coach Anthony Foley also had this to say about the Munster skipper: We are all hugely disappointed for Felix. He was a leading example in the way he applied himself through his commitment, work-rate and attention to detail.
For a player to come in, embody everything that is Munster and have such a presence within the group he will be sorely missed on and off the field. We are very grateful for Felix’s immense contribution over the last six years and wish him all the best for the future.
