Fiji winger Nemani Nadolo is set to miss out on his side’s clash with Wales in the Rugby World Cup on Thursday. Nemani, who has 22 caps for Fiji and has scored 175 points will be a big blow for Fiji who take on Wales in a vital Pool A fixture.
Nadolo was deemed to have committed a dangerous tip-tackle last week in Fiji’s defeat at the hands of Australia.
The 27-year-old has denied that he made a dangerous tackle, but now BT Sport reports that his suspension was upheld by Christopher Quinlan, a judicial officer. As a result, Nadolo has been set a week-long ban with immediate effect for his dangerous tackle and so will be unavailable for Fiji when they play Wales this week.
His ban will end on October 6 which coincides with his side’s fixture with Uruguay in Milton Keynes which will act as the perfect game for Nadolo to bounce back from his suspension. However, with the game against Wales proving to be crucial for his nation’s hopes of progressing in the tournament, the game against Uruguay may be too little, too late for Nadolo.
