England prop Joe Marler has reportedly been given a stern warning from England head coach Eddie Jones.
The Harlequins man has missed four opportunities to play for England this year through suspension, and his return to the squad comes just in time for the Calcutta Cup next Saturday.
Speaking to the BBC’s Rugby Union podcast, Marler said:
I won’t go into too much of it, but he wasn’t a happy bunny (after the latest ban) and he made it very clear to me – he didn’t need to make it publicly,
I think his patience is wearing thin, from what I’ve been told directly,
Whilst Jones has publicly supported his prop, it seems the Australian can deliver a different message from behind closed doors.
Marler, 27, has 53 England caps and will be eager to return to the field at the earliest opportunity.
England have started their 2018 Six Nations campaign with back-to-back victories, most recently in slightly controversial fashion against Wales.
In preparation for the test provided by the Scottish pack, England are training with the Georgian team this week.
