Before Saturday’s huge Judgement Day clash between Scarlets and Newport Gwent Dragons, Scarlets lock David Bulbring gave us his thoughts ahead of the Guinness Pro12 match at the Principality Stadium.

When asked if Scarlets could be able to beat the Dragons on the weekend, Bulbring was very optimistic. He said:

Yeah I definitely think so, it’s obviously going to be a big game. But I definitely think we can overcome them.

Wayne Pivac’s Scarlets face a tough battle with Ulster for that final Pro12 play-off spot, with Leinster, Connacht and Glasgow Warriors all in very good positions to tie up the top three. There’s a lot of pressure, but insists that the club are dealing with it well.

I don’t think we’re putting ourselves under too much pressure. We’re getting more excited, it’ll be a massive crowd. We just want to go out there and give a great performance.

It definitely helps you step it up a level. The most motivation you can get is from yourself, and you can just go out there and enjoy the atmosphere and play your rugby.

With Scarlets the only Welsh region in contention for a play-off spot, South African Bulbring claims that making the destined play-offs would mean a lot for the club, and at the top level is where Scarlets need to be.

It obviously means a great deal, and the play-offs is something you don’t want to go away from. The club has aspirations to be at the top level and that’s where we need to be.
